Sidney Frankson (SID-ney FRANK-son)
Local Police Officer
Sid is a man who spends his career contradictingly increasing his dedication while getting progressively disillusioned with his job. Perhaps those two phenomena are linked. At any rate, Sid frets often that his ancestors (or past selves) profited in some way from slavery and compensates for this mild strain of paranoia by trying to serve the people in a system that ends up carrying on the very tradition of oppression that he so resents. See sentences one and two. Skeptical balance to Carl's passion for heroism.
