You are already here with us!

You are viewing the newest entry in the comic story of Lor’Avvu (for mature readers). Use the navigation bar (which appears below each entry) to navigate through the story. Faeries are unveiling the story as a combination of comics and “intertoons” (musical, motion-vignettes) as seen here:

Note: Please be careful, because clicking on the faerie map may transport you almost instantly to that part of the story and you’ll have to figure out how to navigate from there! Also, we have been warned that the order in which the story appears may not always be chronological.

The Menu
To know more about the talent behind the scenes, watch the CAST page for an evolving list of credits. To learn the languages of Kaian, read the LANGUAGE page, and for a deeper look at the main setting of the story, view the WORLD page, which also includes a ‘magically’ changing map.

How to Reveal More of the Story

{AUamY Cax!}

Greetings, and I’d like to say “ah-WAH-muh shaw” to you, followed by a smack noise (made by kissing the air). This is how you pronounce “welcome!” in the above transcribed Old Lore, a language of Kaian. I am Maxeem, your guide and translator in this world, but I will mostly get out of the way and let the pictures do the talking. If you learn the faerie languages, you may find extra clues about the world, hidden throughout the story.

It’s a web comic
The main story is told in the form of a weekly comic strip updated every Tuesday. Check then to see and read the latest updates. (Parts of the story contain adult themes, strong language and non-gratuitous graphic imagery of sexual and violent scenes, and are intended for mature readers only. By visiting and remaining on this site, you agree that you are allowed to view those parts of the story. The world of faerie is not always for children. If you disagree, you may find something more up your alley here.)

You can interact with it
Clues about the world of Kaian are hidden throughout the story, typically but not always marked with a symbol in the entry notes that looks like this:

Mini Clue Leaf

If there are linked files associated with the clue, you are invited to collect, play with and use them along with Avvu and help zem on zer quest to create peace on Kaian. (They could be an image or index of some kind). At critical points, you — the audience — may be asked to make an intuitive decision for the protagonists that will change how the story is experienced by all other readers.

Enjoy the sights, sound & music
Each chapter is punctuated by an integrated animation. These videos feature the music of a local artist or group, whose creative opus outside the story you are definitely invited to explore. (Acts involved so far include members of: Dalmatian Toadflax, Dead Speaker, Koi, Compost Sleeping Bag, Fygar, The Social Service, and Type 2 B Only)

The authors and artists involved would like to express that we hope you enjoy exploring Kaian with us. A great deal of love and effort is being shared by the faerie world at no profit for its interpreters, except the pure pleasure of celebrating creativity and diversity. If you like the project, awesome! If you like it and want to give back, consider supporting the musicians by purchasing their albums (linked from the video entries). If you love it, give to someone in need.

Thank you so much!
—Maxeem

Hi, Max, My husband Ron Stewart from Australia and myself, Emma Stewart, are now back in Lubbock, Tx. We were hoping to be in touch with you. You were a WOOFER for us and stayed at our farm in Johanna. We sold the farm and moved to the States in September.

Oh, how amazing to hear from you! I was wondering if you’d wind up in Texas after all. I still think about the lizards and bees and plants in that lovely hilly area overlooking the sea. I will send you an email! So good to hear from you! <3
